If you understand what any of that means, you truly are a rural Albertan/Canadian. Hey, wassup, sister?!
Anyway, since my kids started skiing, I’ve actually learned to enjoy the winter. But let’s be real, those first few weeks of getting back into snow boots, hats, mitts, parkas… I mean, that’s a challenge. Ugh. Try getting a child dressed in snow pants who does. not. want. to wear them and the bus is coming down your road. Not so fun times.
I mean, first — WHY ARE WE PLAYING FOOTBALL IN CANADA? Second, I’ve worn them every single day for a good 7 months of the year for the last 3 years. It was time. But actually, it was a crappy time to discover they were done. Moral: spend the money on good footwear. It’s worth it. Also, check that they’re good before you sit outside for 2 hours in the snow.
The trick with long hair and a hat is a side braid, then take the braid out when you take the hat off for a nice (uh, that’s a relative term) tousled look.
So, are you a winter embracer or hater? So long as the time changes soon and the mornings get brighter, I enjoy the snow.
