DIY Peppermint Cooling Mist
Peppermint Cooling Mist
Have you ever spent a day in the summer where you were so wanted to be at the beach because you're so hot, but there's just no way it's going to happen? You're dripping sweat in the most unattractive way possible and you just want these clothes off? Peppermint Cooling Mist is your best friend!
One of my favourite things about peppermint essential oil is the cooling sensation it gives to the body. This is caused by the menthol constituent naturally found in peppermint, which activates your cold-sensing nerves. This menthol also works well to relieve joint and muscle pain in the body, so peppermint essential oil also works on joints and muscles, rheumatoid arthritis, strains and sprains.
2 tbsp distilled water
2 tbsp witch hazel
4 to 5 drops peppermint essential oil
2 ounce glass spray bottle
1. Add peppermint to spray bottle.
2. Combine water and witch hazel.
3. Shake well.
4. Store in the fridge for an extra cool sensation.
Mist over face, back of neck, chest, arms. (Keep eyes closed!) Mist over tired, achy feet, sunburn, bug bites.
Generally recommended not to mist on face of children 6 and under.
I take this stuff to the beach, to weddings, any event where I'm going to be hot and can't cool off.
I also carry peppermint in my purse in the summer. One drop on the back of the neck cools you down so fast! Great for those of who get feeling icky with wobbly stomachs in the heat.
