5 Ways To Use Frankincense

Like many essential oils, there are different types of frankincense. This frankincense, boswellia carteri, is grown in Kenya and comes from the resin in the trees. Frankincense is an ancient oil, often affectionately called the Father of Essential Oils. Let’s look at 5 ways to use it.

1. Improve The Appearance of Aging Skin

Frankincense has been well-known for it’s supportive properties for the skin. Many of Young Living’s skin creams, wrinkle creams, and eye creams, have Frankincense essential oil in them. This oil is very powerful. Use topically on the skin to improve the appearance of aging skin, or add to lotions and soaps.

2. Improve The Appearance of Stressed Skin

One of my favourite ways to use frankincense is mixed with coconut oil. After a long day in the sun, frankincense is soothing to sun-stressed skin.
1 tbsp coconut oil mixed with 1-2 drops frankincense.

3. Relaxation and Rest

Frankincense is well-known for its grounding properties, which makes a person feel settled and calm. This makes it perfect for rest and relaxation. Massage into shoulders and rub on feet before bed to promote a restful sleep.

4. Soothe Tension

Some people find frankincense to soothe tension in the neck and head. Massage into the scalp, shoulders, and neck.

5. Promote Spirituality

Diffuse or apply 1 drop to crown to promote and increase spirituality, feelings of grounding, settling, calmness, and connectedness. Wonderful addition to a yoga practice, a meditation practice, or prayer.
